Just days ahead of Election Day, Columbus-based muralist Adam Hernandez transformed a high-visibility wall at the Old North Arcade into a monumental civic beacon. Featuring a vibrant orange and green design anchoring the message, "Where the Arts Thrive, Communities Flourish," the ArtsVote mural stands as a powerful public testament to the vital intersection of creative expression and democratic participation.
This installation was brought to life through a rapid-response collaboration between Americans for the Arts, the Arts Action Fund, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council. By uniting national advocacy with local co-funding, the partners successfully deployed public art not just as neighborhood beautification, but as a lasting catalyst—driving voter enthusiasm and reminding the community that art is essential to a healthy democracy.
